Center member Tyra Bryant-Stephens, MD, was a lead author on a Case Study featured in the American Academy of Pediatrics. Titled, A Health System-Initiated Intervention to Remediate Homes of Children With Asthma,
“This advocacy case study examines the implementation of the Community Asthma Prevention Program Plus (CAPP+), a unique partnership between a large pediatric health system and community-based organizations to remediate the homes of children with asthma and reduce exposure to environmental asthma allergens….This case study examines the circumstances that gave rise to this innovative program and the domains of expertise that the health system and its community partners provided to create a shared vision for program implementation.”
The study was highlighted in the AAP Blog by Scott D. Krugman, MD, MS, Editorial Board Member, Pediatrics, who spoke of the program as the “a gold standard for non-profit hospital community benefits.”
