Rachel Kaminski advocates for lead free communities in Philadelphia and is one of the founding members of Get the Lead OUT (GTLO): Riverwards Philadelphia. She works to rally community members to share their concerns in meetings with housing developers. Rachel is currently serving on the Riverwards License and Inspection Coalition. Rachel will collaborate with our lead programs to provide insight from a parent’s perspective and disseminate information to communities that may be interested.
GTLO’s mission is to end childhood lead poisoning in the Riverwards by advocating for responsible demolition and excavation, increase blood lead testing rates and secure services for children with elevated levels. The group also works to ensure caregivers of children ages 0-6 know about the dangers and prevalence of lead and to ensure playgrounds and other public spaces are lead free.
