Maurice Sampson currently serves as the Eastern Pennsylvania Director for Clean Water Action. He founded the Youth Environmental Society in New Jersey, a statewide youth environmental organization that networks high school and college environmental organizations through a series of annual workshops and weekend leadership retreats. He is also a sustainable waste management expert with thirty years of experience. Maurice is working on a few projects with the Center, including the expansion of lead soil workshops throughout Philadelphia.
Clean Water Action was founded during the campaign to pass the Clean Water Act in 1972. Clean Water Action/Fund has worked throughout the Philadelphia region for more than 20 years to enhance the health of the community by raising awareness of environmental hazards and connecting residents in vulnerable communities to services and actions they can take to address these hazards. They are committed to providing community members with the information and resources needed to protect their children from exposure to lead in and out of the home.
