Jerry Roseman has been the Director of Environmental Science for the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers for many years. Jerry’s expertise focuses on building conditions and school facilities. As a Co-director of the Philadelphia Healthy Schools Initiative, Jerry has worked to improve school conditions in Philadelphia. Jerry created the Healthy Schools Tracker app that allows users to submit reports on any issues they see in Philadelphia schools. Jerry is currently working with the Center on the assessment of asbestos exposure of children in schools.
The Philadelphia Healthy Schools Initiative’s (PHSI) mission is to take action to address the threats of dangerous conditions in public school buildings and grounds. They support a “Healthy Schools Initiative” with a focus on contaminant identification and control in school environments where the health of our children can be adversely impacted.
