Heather Burris, is a founding member of Philadelphia Regional Center for Children’s Environmental Health. Heather is a practicing neonatologist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania who focuses on environmental determinants of adverse pregnancy outcomes and the impact of exposures on health equity. She studies:
- Greenspace;
- Air pollution;
- Metals and other toxic chemicals;
- Neighborhood deprivation and segregation
Heather’s research projects enroll study participants during pregnancy or use large datasets to identify beneficial exposures and harm reduction to guide perinatal environmental health policy.
