Harriet Okatch is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Harriet’s research focuses on:

  • Lead poisoning prevention (locally and globally)
  • The relationship between anemia status and blood lead levels
  • HIV/AIDS medication adherence.

Harriet’s research projects enroll families to understand the factors that contribute to lead poisoning, the access to and utilization of lead remediation funds, and assessing if residential lead remediation is protective of cognitive development in children. The findings can influence behavior change and effect policy design and implementation.
