Edward Wiener is an environmental engineer and the Chief of Source Registration at Air Management Services. His unit handles permitting and stack testing. He has worked at AMS for 32 years. Edward will liaison between the Center and AMS providing insight into publicly available data collected by AMS.
Air Management Services is part of the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health, the agency that regulates air pollution within the city. AMS’s activities include: issuing construction and operating permits and licenses to facilities for equipment that emits air pollution; inspecting facilities for compliance with regulations and permits; responding to citizen air pollution-related nuisance complaints; operating ambient air monitors for various pollutants within the city; and verifying that asbestos removal within the city is done in compliance with regulations.
