During this webinar, participants will review the following points: 1) what radon is, 2) its health risk to children and staff in childcare facilities in Pennsylvania, and 3) its prevalence in Pennsylvania. Additionally, this webinar will provide an overview of how radon can cause lung cancer along with other risks to children who are exposed. Participants will also review how radon enters buildings, and, if/when radon is found, the proper radon testing protocols, devices to use for testing, and remediation protocols for home- and center-based childcare. Lastly, this webinar will share current radon policies, regulations, and guidance from other states on radon in childcare.
