About Our Speaker:
Kinnari Chandriani, MD is the Director of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention, which works to change systems, policies, and environments to address the major drivers of early death and disability in Philadelphia. In her previous roles with the division, she has strived to foster citywide cross-sectoral partnerships to help achieve these aims. Kinnari received her MD from Case Western Reserve University and completed her pediatric internship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She previously taught ninth grade biology in Mississippi through the Teach For America program. Kinnari is currently pursuing her MPH at Johns Hopkins University as a Bloomberg Fellow.
