Michelle Kelly is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Mid-Atlantic Center for Children’s Health and the Environment (US Region 3 Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit) at Villanova University’s M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing. Her research centers on the preterm birth outcomes, and the link between preterm birth and future health which is complicated by environmental exposures, poverty, and toxic stress. Her publications are nationally and internationally recognized for their contribution to the evolving science related to adult health risks of people born early and small.

Michelle is a dual-certified pediatric and neonatal nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience providing care to children of all ages, in a variety of settings. She is an advocate for promoting child health and continues to serve the community through education, and clinical practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner at a free and charitable practice serving the uninsured and underserved in her community.
