SUMMARY:Impacts of Extreme Heat on Maternal and Child Health: From Awareness to Action
DESCRIPTION:The 9th Annual Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Symposium will explore the research and evidence on the impacts of extreme heat on maternal and child health and discuss ways families\, communities\, and governments can take action. \nKeynote Speaker: Lindsey Burghardt\, MD\, MPH\, FAAP\, Chief Science Officer\, Center on the Developing Child\, Harvard University \nDr. Burghardt develops and leads the Center’s scientific agenda. She is the founding director of the Center’s Early Childhood Scientific Council for Equity and the Environment\, a multidisciplinary group that synthesizes and translates scientific mechanisms related to the how the built and natural environments impact children’s development and lifelong health.\nPanel discussions and presentations will explore the evidence\, review new data tools to identify populations and areas most at risk from extreme heat\, describe innovative strategies\, programs\, and policies\, highlight the experiences of youth and community advocates\, and give space to hearing from current and recent trainees who want to address this issue. \nIn-person Registration: bit.ly/DrexelMCH2024 \nOnline Registration: bit.ly/DrexelMCH2024Online
