SUMMARY:Using AI to discover meaningful knowledge from multimodal representations of longitudinal maternal/fetal health
DESCRIPTION:The Romano Lab conducts original research at the interface of clinical/translational informatics and environmental health\, with particular focus on developing new artificial intelligence (AI) models that explain the biology underlying environmental risk factors and mechanisms of disease. Other areas of research interest include autoimmune-related adverse events\, maternal environmental health\, and natural products drug discovery. Dr. Romano leads the development of several major biomedical knowledge bases\, including ComptoxAI\, VenomKB\, and the Alzheimer’s Knowledge Base. \nFollowing registration below\, a Zoom link will be emailed for the webinar. \n  \nDr. Joseph D. Romano is an Assistant Professor of Informatics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine\, in the Department of Biostatistics\, Epidemiology\, and Informatics. He is a Senior Fellow in Penn’s Institute of Biomedical Informatics and a CEET Investigator in the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology. His research focuses on applying translational bioinformatics and artificial intelligence to environmental toxicology. Visit the Romano Lab website. \nDr. Romano earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Vermont. He then earned PhD\, MPhil\, and MA degrees at Columbia University where his dissertation focused on using computational approaches to discover therapeutic properties from proteins found in animal venoms. During his time at Columbia\, he completed a graduate research fellowship in biomedical informatics sponsored by the US National Library of Medicine. After earning his PhD\, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in environmental health science at the University of Pennsylvania. \nRegister for this Seminar:\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Δ\n \n \n\n \n Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n OrganizationJoin our mailing list? SUMMARY:Sustainable Financing for Home-Based Asthma Services: Snapshots of Innovation and Progress Across the Country
DESCRIPTION:Asthma home visiting is an evidence-based intervention proven to reduce healthcare costs and improve asthma outcomes. Despite robust evidence of their impact\, however\, programs historically have had to rely on unstable grant funding to provide services. But in recent years\, that pattern has begun to shift\, and we have seen progress in communities and states across the country in building systems for sustainable asthma home visiting services. \nThere are many pathways for achieving sustainable home-based asthma services. As such\, progress can look different from one place to the next. This webinar\, hosted by Regional Asthma Management & Prevention (RAMP) and the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH)\, will feature success stories from across the country\, highlighting both state Medicaid policy advances\, and stories about local partnerships\, and other innovations that create a groundswell for statewide change; all serving as models for new community action. \nLearning Objectives: By the end of this webinar\, participants will: \n\nUnderstand what progress and pathways for building systems to expand and sustain access to home-based asthma services might look like\nIdentify one or more pathways that may lead toward sustainable home-based asthma services in their community or state • Know how to access free technical assistance and tools to support efforts in their community or state.\n\nPanelists: \n\nLynly Siag\, New York State Department of Health\nPeggy Gaddy\, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services\nEric Armbrecht\, Saint Louis University\nNatalie Talis\, Alexandria Health Department\nMolly Zemke\, Wisconsin Department of Health Services\nPaula Holigan\, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services
