SUMMARY:Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program and Philadelphia
DESCRIPTION:Sunni Mumford is the Professor of Epidemiology and Co-Director of the Women’s Health Clinical Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Sunni is a reproductive and nutritional epidemiologist whose research focuses on the role of modifiable lifestyle and environmental factors across the life course that affect female and male reproductive health\, fertility\, pregnancy and child health outcomes. She is particularly interested in the intersection between diet and environmental exposures during critical windows of development\, and epidemiologic methods to address these pressing questions. \nA multidisciplinary group of researchers from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Penn Medicine have received a $50 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study the impact of environmental influences on pregnancy and children’s health.
