SUMMARY:The Enduring Legacy of Lead Poisoning
DESCRIPTION:PRCCEH is proud to welcome Dr. Bruce Lanphear of Simon Fraser University to kick off the Fall 2024 seminar series.  This hybrid event is Friday\, September 13 at 10am Eastern. \nBruce Lanphear\, MD\, MPH\, a physician and professor at Simon Fraser University\, lives on Bowen Island\, British Columbia in the Salish Sea. Bruce led influential studies used by federal agencies around the world to set standards for harmful levels of lead in air\, paint\, water\, and house dust. His research convinced public health agencies that no safe level of lead could be identified. He has studied dozens of toxic chemicals and conducted over a dozen randomized controlled trials reducing exposures to lead paint\, tobacco smoke\, pesticides\, and airborne pollutants. Bruce and his brother\, Bob\, co-founded Little Things Matter to disseminate research on toxic chemicals. They produce videos showing how our health is inextricably linked with environmental influences with the goal of preventing disease. \n  \nRegister here for In-Person and Virtual Attendance
