SUMMARY:2026 ECHO Symposium: Translating Science to Action
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for the NIH Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Translating Science to Action Symposium on May 6\, 2026. \nThis free event will bring together researchers\, policymakers\, health professionals\, and advocates to examine how chemical exposures affect child health and development and how science is being translated into meaningful action. \nThe symposium will focus on two critical areas of chemical exposure: plastics and air quality. Through expert-led sessions and a crosscutting panel discussion\, participants will explore how evidence on chemical exposures can inform and is informing programs\, policy\, and practice. Panelists will also address strategies for building trust and communicating scientific findings to policymakers\, health care providers\, parents\, and communities. \nThis is a hybrid event\, with a robust in-person experience designed to support connection and collaboration. Attendees joining onsite will have the opportunity to engage and network at interactive information stations hosted by researchers\, advocates\, professional organizations\, and community partners. \nWhether you attend in person or virtually\, the symposium offers evidence-based insights and practical perspectives to support healthier futures for children. \nRegister today and view the event website to explore the full agenda and speaker lineup. The event website also includes a promotional toolkit\, and we hope you will share the event with your networks.

SUMMARY:2026 Drexel Maternal and Child Health Symposium: The Importance of Data to Advance Maternal and Child Health
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2026 Drexel Maternal and Child Health Symposium\, “The Importance of Data to Advance Maternal and Child Health\,” co-hosted by the Drexel University Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health\, the Division of Reproductive\, Adolescent\, and Child Health at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health\, PolicyLab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia\, and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. \nThroughout this half-day event\, we will explore the importance of data in maternal and child health and how different types of data collection strategies and research methods are used to advance MCH outcomes. Discussions will highlight the importance of large state and national MCH data sets\, rich qualitative MCH data\, and data from community-engaged research. We will describe innovative data collection strategies and examples of how data is used to inform practice and policy. The symposium will demonstrate how data\, in its various forms\, is a valuable resource for researchers\, policymakers\, advocates\, and families interested in understanding and advancing maternal and child health. \nIn-person Registration: tinyurl.com/DrexelMCH2026 \nOnline Registration: tinyurl.com/DrexelMCH2026Online
