Environmental Health Sciences in a Translational Research Framework: More than Benches and Bedside

The Southern California Environmental Health Sciences Center (SCEHSC) Environmental Health Seminar Series presents the John Peter’s Memorial Lecture with Joel D. Kaufman, MD, PhD.

Joel D. Kaufman, MD, MPH is a physician-epidemiologist, board-certified in internal medicine and occupational medicine. He has been a full-time faculty member at the University of Washington since 1997. He has mentored dozens of trainees, and maintained a research portfolio that includes both epidemiological and experimental research funded primarily by NIH and the USEPA. He directs the University of Washington’s Interdisciplinary Center for Exposures, Diseases, Genomics and Environment (EDGE Center). He maintains a primary care internal medicine practice and is an elected member of the US National Academy of Medicine. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Health Perspectives since 2020.
